New Books By Our Brethren

We've got many talented people at Lewisham church! Not only do we have singers, poets and painters but we also have authors.

Recently, two of our brethren have published books: Dorrel Saunders, who has written a book about 'the good old days' back in Jamaica, and Michael Omolewa who has written an examination of the 23rd Psalm. Both of them are available for purchase at Amazon.co.uk and the latter one is also available as a Kindle eBook for all you eBook-reading people.

Come Back Jamaica: The Days When

"Many people who leave the country of their birth to find work far away from home can see more clearly how much it has changed than those who remain. Growing up in Jamaica, Dorrel Saunders left the island for England, having heard that work and money were plentiful there. Planning to stay for just five years, he remained for twenty-five, but through his visits to his former home, he gained a sharp appreciation of how much it was changing in his absence. Come Back Jamaica is both a lament for the lost country of his youth and an exhortation to his fellow Jamaicans to regain the virtues lost in recent decades."

The Words of Psalm 23

"Written from the perspective of a teacher, The Words of Psalm 23 provides fresh meanings from Psalm 23 which has been described as the pearl of the Psalms. Each of the 118 words from the King James Version is fully examined against the backdrop of possible explanations for David’s choice of those words. From these few words, discover:

  • Why David refers to the LORD as “my” shepherd.
  • Amazing benefits of “green pastures.”
  • Comforts of the “restored soul.”
  • Rescue from and use for the “valley of the shadow of death.”
  • Many more of the deep truths of Psalm 23 as you read each chapter that concludes

with lessons learnt, further meditations, and discussion questions.

You have never experienced the Shepherd’s Psalm like this!"
