Our Church In Modern Times

• Pastor Clifford Anderson was the first pastor.

• He held some meetings at Lewisham town hall in 1933.

• A church was purchased due to the generosity of a Mrs Spurgeon for ?2,300 freehold.

• The first baptism took place in 1934. A Sis Jackson was the only candidate.

• A couple was married in the church in 1937. It was performed by Pastor Spearing.

• During World War II the front of the church was damaged, so church meetings were held in a hall at Sangley Road, Catford.
