While the rain threatened, Lewisham Pathfinders shone as they launched into the community last Sabbath as part of their annual Pathfinder Day celebration. During the afternoon, a grand procession of more than 150 Pathfinders, Adventurers and little Eager Beavers led by the Drum Corps and followed by regional pathfinder leaders such as Pastor Kevin Johns, Pathfinder Director from the South England Conference and our Area Coordinator Marcia, among others, went into the main Lewisham Town Centre.
The march went from our church along Lewisham high Street and into the Town Centre where there were drumming demonstrations from Lewisham, Greenwich, North Wembley and Brixton Drum Corps, and Holloway and Lewisham's fancy drilling teams who thrilled passers-by and shoppers with their skills and phenomenal demonstrations. While there, our church members and friends distributed many promotional flyers for the upcoming evangelistic campaign entitled 'Hope' to be held at Brixton church from October 5 to 19, which is part of the 'Mission to the Cities' evangelism series.
During the morning service at church the Pathfinders took part in all aspects of the services, from the singing to the scripture readings and prayers and Pastor Johns preached a sermon entitled "Help My Unbelief".
Well done pathfinders for the effort and hard work on the day. Many thanks also to our friends from all the other clubs who marched and took part in the day.
