Sports Day News

Yesterday was the SEC sports day, and Lewisham continued on the success of previous years by placing second in the small churches category. Peckham church won that category, with Stoke Newington gaining the top spot in the large church section. Our team did a great job with several medals being picked up by our young people; several silvers and bronzes, and even a few Golds!

Our team did an outstanding job and well-deserved praise goes to them for all the hard work and training. There were a few injuries though, with Daniel and Kayla (who had previously picked up silver medals in their events) hurting their hamstring and ankle respectively. Unfortunately Adrian got quite a serious injury during the second stretch of the men's 4x100m relay when he injured his achilles tendon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys, especially Adrian. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
