Women's Ministries

There are over one hundred and sixty women mentioned in the Bible. Although not all of their names were written down, their deeds were, thus showing us the part they, too, played in history. If we were asked to name women who played a role in Bible history, we would probably repeat many of the same names: Sarah, Ruth, Mary, Elizabeth, Mary Magdalene. Even though many women are mentioned only briefly, and some are not even given a name, like the poor widow who gave all that she had (Mark 12: 41-44), just the brief account we are given of them gives us a great deal of insight.Do you think the poor widow knew she was being watched, only to be immortalised forever in the greatest book of all time? The actions of these women teach us what character really is, and how the toughest, or even simplest decisions made everyday could possibly change the world. E. G. White reminds us,

"There is a higher purpose for woman, a grander destiny. She should develop and cultivate her powers, for God can employ them in the great work of saving souls from eternal ruin."

Evangelism 465.

Women's Ministries is in place to support the spiritual, emotional, physical and social needs of women in the church. It recognizes that women have many Gifts of the Spirit and it attempts to help women discover and use these gifts to the glory of God.

So how can you fulfill your purpose? The virtues of the woman found in Proverbs 31 are commendable, but in the final analysis, only one virtue really stands out that matters. She is "a woman that feareth the Lord." vs. 30. King Solomon summed it all up when he said,
